Liam's Dreamworld is a project that I've wanted to do for the last 6 years. Originally, this project was called the “Reactive Room”, which was meant to take all of the information of a room(how many people, Volume, movement, etc) and turn it into music and visuals in real time. Last semester, I attempted that goal and quickly realized that it is an infinitely scoped project that could never truly be finished. At the end of the last semester, I knew I had to pivot. It was decided that I would build multiple mini installations that would allow guests to experience music in new and creative ways. This project consists of four rooms, each trying to guide your attention somewhere different.
The “Musical Beyblade Stadium” is meant to make you focus on things below your line of sight.
“The Cloud” is meant to make you focus on things above your line of sight.
The “Instrument Playground” makes you focus on the sounds you are creating.
The “Chain Reactive Barrel Drums” make you focus on the sounds other people are making.
Every room is separated by my “Step Reactive Floors“ that match music to your steps
